Protecting the Ties That Bind
November 4 - 6, 2011 San Francisco CA

Thank you for your interest in Leather Traditions -- the November workshop with Guy Baldwin is full. If you would like to wait list for the weekend, or would be interested in a future weekend with Guy, please fill out the Application.

The San Francisco-based educational group Leather Traditions has announced its fourth weekend of workshops and presentations, "Protecting the Ties That Bind: Strengthening the D/s Dynamic," November 4 - 6, 2011, with featured presenter Guy Baldwin, celebrated leatherman and author of SlaveCraft and Ties That Bind.

Formed in 2006, Leather Traditions is a non-profit, all-volunteer effort dedicated to supporting continuity within the leather/kink/BDSM community through mentoring and education. It seeks especially to uphold and keep vital the traditional culture of leather in authority-based (or "power-exchange") relationships.

Past weekends - with such leather luminaries as Vi Johnson, Master Skip and slave Alia - looked at the roles and needs of submissive or service-oriented individuals and Dominants separately. This year's November weekend will focus on maintaining the health and stability of the power dynamic from both sides of the Dominant/submissive (and Master/slave) slash.

The event will be held in the heart of San Francisco's Civic Center, convenient to public transit, shopping and hotels. Prospective workshop topics include, "The Dynamics of Change" (presented by Race Bannon), "The Art of Communication in the D/s Dynamic," "Protecting Each Other - Before, During and After," "D/s Disasters: How to Avoid Them, How to Get Through Them." Registration includes all meals, including dinner with Baldwin and the Leather Traditions team.

"We're delighted to present distinguished community leaders, including Guy Baldwin, teaching and talking about what they know and love best," says Daddy Sal Hopkins, one of the founders of Leather Traditions, and founder and past coordinator of the Exiles. Another founding member, slave bill - co-founder of the S.F. chapter of the Defenders and in service to his Master for 15 years - elaborates: "We've enlarged the Leather Traditions team, and will supplement and support Guy with a stellar roster of presenters from the local community. This might be our most ambitious weekend yet."

Registration is limited to 25 persons or fewer. Participants need not be currently in a D/s or M/s dynamic, but some experience of and commitment to authority-based relationships is advised. Applications must be received by October 1st - but early registration is encouraged, since the event is expected to sell out before then.
